Welcome, friends and family. I’m honored to have you here and would love for you to stay a while.
My name is Alex, and I am the Culture’s Culinarian. Through my platform, I offer chef services and create content that makes food and your kitchen more approachable. With this blog and the upcoming series, I aim to share my expertise as an epicurean.
My mission is to nourish the hearts and minds of the world, offering you a “meal with a message” that connects you to food in unprecedented ways. Like a poem, everything I create has a story, whether told visually through stunning photography/videography, verbally through narrative, or otherwise. I want you to understand that everything you consume has a beginning, and its journey doesn't end with you. The food you consume is important – it has the power to nurture or harm you – and so it is up to me to articulate this in a way that’s easily digestible (all puns intended).
My cooking style, similar to my writing, is bold, unafraid to defy conventions, and deeply connected to its environment, honoring divine order and sequence. As my handle @castironshawty suggests, I have a fondness for cast iron cookware, but I don’t limit myself to it. I do appreciate its durability, versatility, and conductivity but that is something I’ll delve deeper into in a future blog post.
I hope to leave a significant mark on the world through my food. Beyond cooking, I relish in enhancing the most important days of people’s lives – be it baby showers, private dinners, or birthday parties. In my next business phase, I aim to infuse this love into your everyday lives. Through blogs, newsletters, cookbooks, and guides, I aspire to simplify your life, add excitement to your meals, and gracefully bring food into the forefront of your hearts and minds.
